There is a bug in the newest Gaia version that prevents proximity spawning from working properly. We will fix this in an upcoming update. For now you can apply the following change to get proximity spawning working again:

1. Open the file Assets > Gaia > Scripts > Utils > QuadTree.cs
2. Locate the "Find" method inside the file, should be in Line 180.
3. The lines 191 to 196 should be as follows:

if (
this.boundaries.xMin < rangexMax &&
this.boundaries.xMax > rangexMin &&
this.boundaries.yMin < rangeyMax &&
this.boundaries.yMax > rangeyMin
)

Change this to these lines instead:

if (!(
this.boundaries.xMin < rangexMax &&
this.boundaries.xMax > rangexMin &&
this.boundaries.yMin < rangeyMax &&
this.boundaries.yMax > rangeyMin
))

(if you are familiar with scripting: the change basically just negates the if-clause)

4. save the file, make sure unity detects it, if in doubt you can hit ctrl+R to force compilation.
5. Open the visualizer for a resource with proximity spawning, you should see that the proximity rule should work now and the visualizer spheres turn green accordingly.
